The embellishment of Arms & Armor began in the Middle Ages. A family crest, a coat of arms, perhaps a religious icon was carved in the metal. In time, these were replaced with engraved battle scenes, landscapes, hunting motifs, even portraits of the owner. The Las Vegas Police Department

First is a gun that we created specially for the Las Vegas PD. In honor of the departments 30th anniversary LVPD ordered a special overall blue USFA single action featuring Armoury engraving with gold inlay details such as barrel and cylinder bands, a gold plated hammer and gold inlay markings on the backstrap and barrel. Tru-Ivory grips and an applied silver star on the shovelhead along with special serial numbers complete the gun. Over sixty of these beautiful guns were made by U.S. Fire Arms Mfg in our Hartford, Conn. Armory.

The 169th Marine Squadron

Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169 was commissioned at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif., on 30 September 1971. HMLA-169, or Vipers, was designated Marine Corps Aviation Association Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron of the Year for 1997, and received the Meritorious Unit Commendation for operations from May 1996 to June 1997. The unit has served in Iraq since the beginning of the conflict to free that country of Saddam Hussein's rule.

While on operations in Iraq several pilots in this unit decide to do something to for themselves to commemorate their time overseas. They had the idea to order a custom revolver and contacted USFA. Twenty Marine pilots ordered copies of a special gun and picked them up when they returned to the states. The 45 Caliber single action revolver is overall blue with scrimshaw Tru-Ivory grips featuring the Viper logo on one side and the unit insignia on the other. In addition special VIPER 169-xx serial numbers, are featured on the guns.
